One Monthly Goal - March 2017
The 7" paper-pieced daffodil (Narcissus species) was created a couple of years ago and I've been thinking it would be a great addition to a springtime quilt, colorful wall hanging or a decorative pillow.
From the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days Campaign, "The daffodil is the signature flower of hope. And, during the American Cancer Society’s annual Daffodil Days campaign in March, it symbolizes hope for cancer patients and their families."
The Cancer Society of New Zealand's Daffodil Day (last Friday in August) "symbolises hope for 1 in 3 New Zealanders affected by cancer."
In Australia, Daffodil Day (in August) "helps fund Cancer Council’s research, patient support services and prevention programs."
My goal this month is to piece other daffodil blocks and search for daffodil and tulip (Tulipa species) fabrics. I'd like to also use these butterfly fabrics from my stash, in this yet-to-be-determined project.
Have you linked up? What is your goal for March?
(A goal could be to finish a quilt, but could also be to attach a binding. Whatever it takes to help you move forward and make progress on your projects! As long as the project involves a needle and/or fabric, you can link up!)
Are you using any springtime floral fabrics in a sewing project?
Love the daffodil. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck on your project. Patty at Elm Street Quilts 3/4/2017
The daffodils here were just beginning to bloom and now they're predicting 3-4 days of cold rain. So, I will enjoy seeing daffodils bloom as I piece them together.
