January's OMG - finished!

My submission to January's 'One Monthly Goal' Finish Party is the stack of purple Log Cabin Squares (sunshine and shadows variation) that have been pieced and transformed into the quilt top displayed below.

Inspiration for this pattern came from the Log Cabin Collection in "Quick-Method Quilts", ©1994 by Leisure Arts, Inc. The blocks that I started with were varying sizes and needed to be trimmed (or added to). My finished blocks are 11" x 11", making the wall hanging quite large. I pulled blocks from the side borders and elongated the pattern to create a quilt. I have extra purple fabrics and may add a half square triangle border element. This quilt top is not complete but I did accomplish my goal of piecing the blocks.

The softly muted lavender shades of the centerpiece - Chantilly Rose Collection & P&B Fabrics - will serve as the backdrop to an appliquéd motif. The collection shows a log cabin with an intertwined floral wreath. I plan on looking for something else to embellish the center.

Have you Linked up to Elm Street Quilts - the January Goal Finish Linkup?
